Winter Swept Emmy nominations

One of the biggest television sagas ended in the month of May leaving us searching for the meaning of life. ‘Game of Thrones’ first aired in 2011, and the season finale aired in May, which received mixed reviews. The finale received a lot of flak but proving everyone wrong the final season broke records at the Emmy Awards. HBO has secured a total of 32 nominations for Game of Thrones. The show has been ruling the television industry throughout its run. The entire series overall received a total of 161 nominations. This year the show scored four nominations in the category supporting actress in a drama series that included Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister). On the other hand, actors Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaimie Lannister), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) have been nominated in the category Best Supporting Actor. Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) have been nominated in the lead categories for the first time. Peter Dinklage is the only member of the cast who received the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor for three times. Dinklage has been nominated for his role in the series for every season. This show has one of the largest fans following, the effort put by the entire team deserves every bit of acknowledgment and appreciation.
