Warner Bros. looking for a younger Superman

Warner Bros. invited a lot of criticism and a tiny pinch of support by recently casting Twilight star, Robert Pattinson for the role of Batman. Now, inside sources reveal that not only Ben Affleck, but even Henry Cavill, who plays the iconic Superman wants to give up on his role. Rumours suggest that the studio is now looking to move forward with a younger new Superman solo movie in the future. According to We Got This Covered, Warner Bros. is looking forward to explaining Kryptonian mythology in a rebooted manner by using the character of Supergirl, which will probably jump start ‘DC Extended universe’.

This theory does actually make a lot of sense and provides an opportunity to portray a younger Clark Kent to make up for a new timeline. CW’s Arrow verse has gained a lot of popularity, and it might be a good time for Kara Zor-El to move forward towards the big screen. The entire overload of narrative on Superman’s shoulder can now be shifted and shared, and Kryptonian mythology can be offered simpler and better explanations. Pattinson’s contract already includes three movies and the new Superman can also gear up for similar opportunities. ‘Worlds of DC’ appears to be using an alternate timeline in a way that doesn’t outright negate the earlier flicks.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman 1984 will hit the screens in the next summer, while Jason Momoa will be portraying Aquaman again in 2022 for a solo movie. It will be interesting to see if these ‘old’ characters interact with ‘new’ versions from a different timeline. DC does have a spectacular comic history, and Warner Bros. now has the chance to revive it on the screen. The cross-pollination between the timelines might be handed over to James Gunn, as yet another rumour suggests DC will be pulling him back after Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3. His experience with Marvel, who have already played with alternate timelines, might spearhead DC now.
