‘Star Wars’ gets its Release Date as ‘Avatar’ is Postponed Again

Disney announced release date for it new ‘Star Wars’ movie on Tuesday, as James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ sequel gets postponed. Disney rescheduled its list of upcoming movie releases from 2019- 2027, which includes, ‘Star Wars’ sequels, ‘Avatar’ sequels, and untitled Marvel movies yet to come. While movies like, ‘Dark Phoenix’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘Lion King’ will hit the theatres in the upcoming months, ‘Avatar’ sequel is yet to wait for some more time before it gets its sequel ready. Disney released an updated list on its official website stating that ‘Avatar’ and ‘Star Wars’ will share the alternate pre-Christmas weekend slots starting from 2021-2027. Currently there are two separate ‘Star Wars’ movies is in progress, one being ‘The Last Jedi’ by Rian Johnson, and the other developed by ‘Game of Thrones’ creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss which is yet to be named. On the other hand, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ sequel was slated to release between December 2020 or 2021 and 2024- 2025 but now they have been equally spaced apart. Disney retained a vacant spot on December 2020 which has been placed with Steven Spielberg's ‘West Side Story’ remake for December 18, 2020.
