The 1980 cult classic film ‘Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyun Aata hai?’, starring Naseeruddin Shah, Smita Patil, and Shabana Azmi is finally ready to release its remake with the same name with a new cast on 12th April 2019. The film is being helmed by Soumitra Ranade.
The original movie was based on director Saeed Akhtar Mirza's own life. However, the remake is said to be a modern take on Saeed Akhtar Mirza’s satire. The ensemble cast of the film includes Nandita Das, Manav Kaul, and Saurabh Shukla. Nandita Das is an actor and director who has worked in numerous movies, her last directorial was ‘Manto’ starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. On the other hand, Manav Kaul has featured in movies like ‘Jajantaram Mamantaram’, Kai Po Che and Citylights.
The film was premiered in Singapore South Asian International Film Festival on September of 2017, where it won many accolades. With a new cast and modern plot, the movie is set to hit the theatres next month.
