Parineeti Chopra to Star in 2016 Film ‘The Girl on the Train’s Hindi Remake

2016 Hollywood movie ‘The Girl on the Train’, is all set to get its Hindi remake, starring Parineeti Chopra in the lead role of Rachel Watson, played by Emily Blunt in the original Hollywood film. The film is an adaption of the novel of the same name by Paula Hawkins, and was directed by Tate Taylor and written by Erin Cressida Wilson and backed by Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Pictures in 2016. The plot revolves around a woman named Rachel Watson, a divorcee and an alcoholic with a history of blackouts. What follows after she loses her job is something suspicious, as she finds herself entangled with the investigation of a missing person case and with gruesome truths yet to surface.

Parineeti Chopra has previously worked in films like ‘Ishaqzaade’, ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’, ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’, which did good on the box office, and ‘Ishaqzaade’ received a lot of praise from audiences and critics’ alike, for both Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor’s lead character performances. According to reports, Parineeti Chopra, showed interest in doing the film, because there is a lot to learn and explore as the new character, something she hasn’t portrayed in her career yet. The filmmaker hasn’t announced a title yet for the Hindi remake and will be directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and produced by Reliance Entertainments. Set in the UK, the film is expected to go on floors around July. The makers are eyeing a 2020 release.
