Deepika Padukone is all set to start a new journey as the chairperson of Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) Film Festival. MAMI is a public trust that organizes annual film festival known as Mumbai Film Festival.
Director Kiran Rao was the chairperson of the academy for four years. Kiran stepped down from her position owing to her commitment to her upcoming film. When asked about this Kiran said, “It has been my privilege and pleasure to work as a part of the core team of MAMI, and after four years as Chairperson of the Academy, I am delighted to welcome one of India’s most loved film stars, Deepika as the new Chairperson.”
Deepika has achieved a lot in these few years in the industry and is perfectly fit for this role. Deepika too is overwhelmed and honored by this responsibility. She will start shooting for her next film ‘Chhapaak’ from March. She will also produce this film.
