‘Mom’ to Release In China

Bollywood’s ‘Roop Ki Rani’ left us on 24th February last year. The incident was very sudden and the entire country was grief-stricken. Sridevi was an iconic star and ruled the Indian film industry with her mesmerizing onscreen performance. On her one-year death anniversary, her husband and producer Boney Kapoor announced that Sridevi’s last and 300th film ‘Mom’ will release in China on March 22nd.

Boney Kapoor said that they wanted to showcase her “most remembered last film” in China, our neighboring country. Mom was directed by Ravi Udyawar. It was a revenge thriller where Sridevi avenges a crime committed against her stepdaughter. ‘Mom’ released in 2017 India. The movie earned Sridevi a posthumous National Award for best actress.

A spokesperson said,

We will be giving the film as big a release as some of the bigger Bollywood films. We hope for a successful run in China especially since the audience there, we feel will be able to relate to this powerful story of a strong female character’s journey

The movie has already released in Czech, UAE, Russia, UK, Poland, USA, and Singapore.

Sridevi passed away in UAE. She was there attending the wedding of a relative. Sridevi was found dead in a hotel room’s bathtub. She has given some great movies in her career span like ‘Sadma’, ‘Mr. India’, ‘English Vinglish’, and many more.
