Karwaan: A dead body, some witty jokes and a road trip

The movie ‘Karwaan’ revolves around a road trip and what happened during the trip.  This movie will take you from Bangalure to Kochi via Coimbatore and Ooty. Places which you can cherish even after you leave the theatre seat. The movie perfectly captured the lush green untamed beauty of those places and was probably shot right after the monsoon season.

The film will present to you the beauty of nature and it will take you far away from the mundane life. Speaking about the soundtracks of director Akarsh Khurana’s ‘Karwaan’ during any long drive is worth a second listen. Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘wanna-be-a-photographer’ character is brilliantly portrayed in this movie. Quite unbelievable that Karwaan is the debut Hindi film for Dulquer, the Malayalee heart-throb who is quite famous for rendering several hits like ‘Ok Kanmanai’ (Ok Jaanu was a remake of this film) and ‘Bangalore days’. Speaking of Irrfan Khan plus a road trip will definitely give you a feel of Shoojit Sarkar’s ‘Piku’. In the movie, there are subtle and free-flowing jokes which will produce a grin on the viewer’s face.

The three distinct character- Avinash, Shaukat (Irrfan) and Tanya (Palkar)- a teenager whom the duo meets en route, they have a common chord and their unexplored relationship with their parents. The film will hook you from the beginning and Irrfan’s character effortlessly shines through the film. Though the film might not take you on a roller-coaster ride, it will leave you warm and fuzzy moments.
