‘Guang’ gets the Best film Award!

A young autistic man with a passion for music struggles to find a job to support his family, well it is the story of a Malaysian movie, ‘Guang’. Directed by Malaysian filmmaker Quek Shio the movie won millions of hearts and also the Best Film honour at the 59th Asia Pacific Film Festival (APFF) earlier this week in Macau. The 2018 film last year already won four trophies at the Malaysian Film Festival for Best Art Direction, Most Promising Actor (Male) for Kyo Chen, Most Promising Director for Quek Shio Chuan and Best Cinematography.

Well, it doesn’t end there Guang was also nominated at the 21st Shanghai International Film Festival and Asia Fukuoka Film 2018. The Asia Pacific Film Festival began 1954 and Guang is the first Malaysian film to win this award since the inception of this film festival.
