Ahead of Netflix’s upcoming thriller Brad of Blood, Shah Rukh Khan raised a lot of eyebrows after sharing a cryptic teaser for the show. The series is based on Bilal Siddiqui’s 2015 best-selling book by the same name and is produced by Khan’s very own Red Chillies Entertainment production house.
The edge-of-your-seat spy thriller features Emraan Hashmi as excommunicated RAW agent Kabir Anand, who is called back to service after four intelligence officers are held captive by Pakistan-based terror groups. Released earlier in the day, both Hashmi and Khan are notably seen for the first time on-screen in the three-minute long trailer together. The ‘rescue or suicide mission’ trailer also features Rajit Kapur as a top RAW official, Sobhita Dhulipala as analyst Esha Sengupta and Vineet Kumar as RAW agent Veer. Familiar faces include Raazi’s iconic on-screen terrorist Jaideep Ahlawat, who has been cast in his familiar role and will be playing a terrifying terror leader in the series. The trailer ends with a significant cliff-hanger as Hashmi’s character Adonis trying to ‘bury his past once and for all’ by aiming a gun at Ahlawat’s character.
In an earlier statement, Emraan expressed his delight to be a part of the team. “I am really excited to be a part of this new form of storytelling where content has no boundaries and the world is your audience. It will be a thrilling experience that will challenge me as an actor to bring out my best,” he said. The trailer is already in the trending list on YouTube within hours of its release. “Sharing the trailer of our first Netflix series Bard of Blood. A thrilling tale of espionage, vengeance, love and duty. Hope you enjoy it,” tweeted Shah Rukh. Apart from this intriguing project, Khan is also producing Netflix horror show, Betaal which is based in a remote village and a zombie battalion.
Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, Bard of Blood will air on Netflix on 27 September.
