DDLJ & Sholay comes up in Trump’s Motera speech

US President Donald Trump is on his maiden visit to India with the first lady Melania Trump. On Monday afternoon Trump visited the Sardar Patel or Motera stadium in Ahmedabad. The city organized a welcome event, ‘Namaste Trump’. Trump surprised all the attendees with his Bollywood reference in his speech. Trump quoted Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol’s Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra’s Sholay in his speech. Trump said,
“This is the country that produces nearly 2000 movies a year from the hub of genius and creativity known as Bollywood. All over the planet people take great joy in watching Bollywood films, bhangra, and classic films like DDLJ and Sholay.” 

Trump’s mention of DDLJ and Sholay has taken the internet by storm just a few minutes after his speech went viral on the social media platform, especially the SRK-fans are more excited about it. SRK-fans are taking great joy in it and are all praises for their idol, they even shared the clip with the caption, “Shah Rukh Khan jaisa koi nahi”. 

The entire Motera stadium hooted and cheered loudly as soon as they heard the US President mention two of the classic movies of Bollywood. Before visiting the Motera stadium, Trump along with wife Melania Trump visited the Sabarmati Ashram and they will be visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra before heading for the diplomatic meetings to New Delhi.
