Concluding a Decade long Journey of Emotions

An ode to ‘Avenge the fallen’ is how ‘Avengers: Endgame’ paid tribute to its decade long Marvel Cinematic Universe. To conclude the 22 movie series, Endgame turned out to be a cinematic masterpiece with an apt storytelling to sum up the end of decade long emotions. In 2008, ‘Iron Man’ debuted, with Robert Downy Jr. in the titular role; and the stories of ordinary peoples with extraordinary abilities rising above their shortcomings and become the heroes we can adore when the journey comes to an end turned out to be an ideology fans intensely believed. Not just the plethora of heroes but the plethora of villains, that our heroes crossed paths with were equally competent in every aspect.

The 3hours and 2 minutes long movie, takes us down the aftermath of the Mad-Titan, Thanos’ efforts to bring ‘perfect balance’ to the entire universe, by using the Infinity Stones, which we witnessed last year in the prequel ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. Thanos had been successful to execute his view of ‘bringing balance’ by eliminating half the universes population, with just a snap of his fingers; and Earth’s mighty Avengers were unable to save the world, as half of the entire population along with some of our notable heroes perished into thin air. In the aftermath, the loss of the loved ones were still fresh and it only justifies that the rest of the heroes will try to restore everything back to how it was and avenge the fallen ones. They initially set off on a mission, to reverse the effects of Thanos’ snap only to find a dead end, forcing them to let go of their loved ones and start with what they are left with. However, a small ray of hope emerges, as Scott Lang returns after a certain time, who was stuck in the quantum realm during the snap. As another adventure began, many character developments, plunging into the relations of each character with other characters, and bonding, that put the spotlight on aspects like, love, loss, friendship, duty, grief and many more that makes it all the more relatable. As time passed, many core characters evolved in accordance with the outcome. However, they all come together putting their differences aside at the hour of need. The conquest to win the odds against the all-powerful mad titan, our heroes faced many challenges and sacrifices to restore the snap. But Thanos is inevitable. His plaguing idea of ‘perfect balance’ will always cause chaos, and he also understands that, this will cost more, than what he gains, when all is settled. As mentioned by Doctor Strange in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, out of 14 million possibilities only one outcome shows a definite result that the odds to be on our heroes favors, making it inevitable as well, that our heroes will fight to the end to only bring home peace.

The long duration of the movie was justifiable, as to tell the whole story it was all, the filmmakers could possibly manage, and every detail paid off. It was astonishing to watch how even the smallest scenes of every MCU movie even the post credit scenes were well thought about, slowly walking us towards the end. The dedication put forth by each member off the cast and crew was loud and clear throughout the running time. In a way, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ was nothing short of an emotional journey with comic reliefs to make an entertaining watch to keep one seated. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, based on Marvel Comics, Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures; ‘Avengers: Endgame’ stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evan, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Paul Rudd, Kieron Gillian, DanaiGurai, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Brie Larson to name a few.
