Rani Mukherjee’s ‘Hum Tum’ and ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ really stole our hearts. In ‘Hum Tum’ we saw Rani Mukherjee opposite Saif Ali Khan and in ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ we saw her with Abhishek Bachchan. Both the pairings were much appreciated among the audience. Coincidentally, three of them were seen in Hum Tum, if you all remember! Abhishek had a small cameo in this film. Now the team of Bunty Aur Babli is planning a sequel of this film. Rani Mukherjee will be a part of this sequel but unfortunately, Abhishek won't be there in Bunty Aur Babli 2 but no need to be upset, to fill in Abhishek’s shoes Saif Ali Khan has been roped in.
Post Hum Tum in 2004, Saif and Rani did movies like ‘Ta Ra Rum Pum’ and ‘Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic’ and now they will be back together after 11-years. The sequel will feature two pairs of ‘Baunty and Babli’ and the story will see a leap of 10-years. Beside Saif and Rani; Gully Boy famed Siddhant Chaturvedi and newcomer Sharvari will also be seen in titular roles.
On Abhishek not being a part of this film and Saif joining in, Rani said,"The original 'Bunty Aur Babli' got tremendous love and appreciation from audiences and it is their love that has made YRF decide to make the sequel. Abhishek and I were both approached by YRF to reprise our roles as the originals in 'Bunty Aur Babli 2' but, unfortunately, things didn't work out with him and we will miss him dearly."
Rani further said,"As a team, we are so happy to welcome Saif. I have lovely memories of working with him and I'm really looking forward to creating something new and exciting with him in 'Bunty Aur Babli 2'. Hopefully, audiences will give us the same love that they have given our earlier films,"
Saif, who is quite excited about this project said that he agreed to do the sequel of this 2005 hit because of the script. He went on to say that Bunty Aur Babli 2 will be a completely rebooted sequel set in present times. The sequel will be produced by Aditya Chopra and as per the reports, the film also started shooting.
