Boney Kapoor to remake ‘Badhaai Ho’ in four languages

Almost after a year of its release ‘Badhaai Ho’, filmmaker Boney Kapoor confirmed of acquiring rights to remake the movie in 4 South Indian language; Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam and Kannada.

A movie, about a family, where the mother of two young boy gets pregnant with a third child at the age of 50, and the events that followed with the family recuperating with the shock of conceiving a baby at such late age in a complicated Indian Society. The movie became a blockbuster when it released last year. The movie starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, and Sanya Malhotra as its main cast.

Boney Kapoor confirms that she has acquired the rights for remaking the film in south languages, as she believes the film resonates with both the masses and classes and has done extremely well across the nation. She is yet to decide whether the Tamil or the Telegu version will be remade first.

The first South remake will start shortly after the Tamil remake of the 2016 film Pink, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu.
