‘Beyond the Clouds’ to release in China

Iranian director and producer Majid Majidi, who is known for his directorial works in international film touching upon many genres and themes. Films like ‘Baduk’ (1992), ‘Children of Heaven’ (1997), ‘The Willow Tree’ (2005), ‘The Songs of Sparrow’ (2008) were highly praised by critics and has been a part several film festival screenings. His recent movie was ‘Beyond the Clouds’ marking the debut of Indian actor Ishan Khattar and Malavika Mohanan. Khattar’s performance in the film was appreciated by critics and audiences alike. However, the movie released last year, at first in the 2017 International Film Festival of India and then on 2018 in India. The film story revolves around bonding between the siblings, a take on human relationships in general. The sibling's bond is put to test when Tara lands in jail for a crime committed by Amir which forms the crux of the film. The film is a grown-up version of Majidi's previously directed ‘Children of Heaven’ (1997). The Chinese film market has been very dominant in past few months with Indian films making big on the Chinese theatres. Sridevi’s ‘Mom’ and Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu’s ‘Andhadhun’ broke records in the country previously, with ‘Andhadhun’ crossing 350cr in the Chinese box office. The film has been screened in 34 territories, where the responses were positive, and is ready to go down in its 35th destination. Produced by Zee Studios and Namah Pictures, the film introduced Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor's younger brother Ishaan Khatter, and Malavika Mohanan. ‘Beyond the Clouds’ will hit the screens of China on 24th May.
