Bad health makes Big B miss the award ceremony

Amitabh Bachchan stepped into Bollywood in 1969 with the movie ‘Saat Hindustani’ and since then he has given us several memorable films. With him, Bollywood got its ‘angry young man’, not only as a brooding angry man but he has mesmerized us with his acting in every other character. Even in the second innings of his acting career, Amitabh didn’t disappoint his fans. In order to honor his decades of contribution, he is being awarded the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award for 2018. Coincidentally the Dadasaheb Phalke award was instituted the same year Bachchan made his debut. He was supposed to be awarded at the National Film Awards ceremony in New Delhi on Monday. Unfortunately, Sahenshah won't be able to attend the ceremony owing to his bad health. Big B posted on his social media handle that he is down with fever and he is not allowed to travel in such condition.

The awards are generally presented by the President of India but this time it will be given away by vice-president Venkaiha Naidu and according to sources President Ram Nath Kovind will host a high tea for winners later. On the professional front Big B recently wrapped up the last leg of shooting in Slovakia for his film 'Chehre'.
