Abhishek Chaubey’s ‘Sonchiriya’ is a gory dacoit drama set in the district of Chambal. The film is based on the lives of the bandits and Chaubey is known for his authentic portrayal of the subject-matter of the film be it Udta Punjab or this. His dedication and commitment to his film are proved yet again. For a sequence, he brought 50-60 men all the way from Punjab, who were actually trained to fire real guns. Even background artists were trained properly to make them look ‘rough and fearless’ and all the fighters trained with real guns. Chambal has been famous for its dacoit engrossment for many years, and to reflect that terror and violence on screen with such sincerity was really a challenge.
The film has Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranveer Shorey, Manoj Bajpayee, Bhumi Pednekar, Asutosh Rana in the lead and it will release on 8th February 2019.
