Akshay donates a lump sum for the transgender community

Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar is known for his discipline and his philanthropy as well. Recently, Akshay Kumar donated Rs. 1.5 crores to build a home for transgender people in Chennai. One can call it a publicity stunt as Akki’s upcoming project will see him in the role of a transgender. The film will be titled ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ and it will be directed by Raghava Lawrence. Director Raghava runs a charitable trust in Chennai for the underprivileged people and it was him who took to his social media platform to share pictures of Akshay Kumar with a few people of the transgender community. Raghava on his post wrote, “Hi, friends and fans, I would like to share one good news, Akshay Kumar sir is donating Rs.1.5 crores for building a transgender home for the first time in India.”

Coming back to Akshay’s Laxmmi Bomb, it is the Hindi remake of the Tamil film ‘Kanchana’ which is also directed by Raghava Lawrence. In this film, Akshay’s character will be possessed by the ghost of a transgender person, named Laxmmi. Recently, Akshay shared his look on his social media handle and he looks as promising as ever. Laxmmi Bomb will star Kiara Advani alongside Akshay in a crucial role and the film is slated to release on 22nd May.
