61st Birth Anniversary of King of Pop

August 29th, 1958 Michael Joseph Jackson came to this world unknown of the fact that he will change the world of music forever. Michael Jackson ruled the 70s, 80s, and 90s which was the era of pop music and thus came to be known as the ‘King of Pop’. He is still a global icon and rarely anyone can match the enigmatic persona of this super-performer. Jackson began his singing career at the age six. His brothers and family members had a group of their own known as the ‘Jackson Five’, and Michael Jackson started his career with them. Jackson dreamt of having a solo career out of his family band. His dream materialized by the late 1970s when his first solo album ‘Off the Wall’ came out, thanks to the music producer Quincy Jones. After that there was no looking back for him. Jackson’s second album ‘Thriller’ established him as the most famous pop singer across the world. Some of his iconic hits are Beat It’, Billie Jean’, including Thriller. In 2006 he was recognized as the First Entertainer to have officially ratified sales of more than 100 million albums outside the USAby the Guinness World Records. He was not only a singer but a performer and besides his music, his distinctive dance move the Moonwalk also became synonymous with the King of Pop. Jackson tasted every bit of success but with that came bitter after-taste; his life was filled with countless controversies that put a dent in his image. Despite that fact his contribution to the world of music is unparalleled and there won’t be another Michael Jackson again. He shared with us his greatest gift of music and on his 61st birth anniversary we pray for his soul to rest in peace.
